In early YC127, a merger event was given a hearing from Federation Customs to form a new corporation called Western Shipyards. This merger would consist of two competing Gallente industrial corporations based out of the Ammatar Mandate's Derelik region. With public interest focused on bringing back manufacturing capacity from Ammatar space after years of outsourcing, Federation Customs granted Western Shipyards an expedited hearing after only nine months. Finally, after all formal FCC paperwork was filed and all fees and duties were paid in full, Western Shipyards was given permission to form and operate in the region of Solitude, far on the western edge of federally controlled space.
Today Western Shipyards, known colloquially as WSY, is a premier industrial ship manufacturing corporation with a focus on ORE patented expedition frigates, mining barges, industrial command ships, mining equipment, and capital mining rigs, as well as a secondary focus on oxygen jump fuel of all octane ratings and grades.
WSY is also providing local planetary warehousing and dry bulk transportation services for local planetary colonies, including high-speed surface-to-orbit transportation solutions for passenger and freight traffic alike.
At the same time, WSY is also providing jump freighter brokering to all points east of Solitude on the world map, including the following major and regional trade hubs.
